  • Myokensai
    • With a history about 380 years long, the fall festival held yearly at the Myomimiya is known as one of Kyushu’s big three.  The other two are the “Nagasaki Suwa Jingu Okunchi” and the “Fukuoka Hakozaki Guho Joue”.
The festival was developed along with the culture of the people with the support of Hosokawa Tadaoki.  It was also supported by the Matsui Family, whose home became Yatsushiro Castle.  Every year at the “Onobori” that is held on the 23rd of November, there is an absolutely gorgeous picture scroll that is over 1km long in addition to 9 Kasabokos and Kidas.  In March of the 23rd year of Heisei, the “Shinko Gyoji” was designated a National Important Intangible Folk Cultural Asset.
On the day before “Onobori”, the shopping center holds “Goya”.  On the day of the festival, a dedicatory dance performance can be seen in the Tosaki dry riverbed (Myomi-machi, Mizunashigawa River).
