Yatsushiro Shrine
Myokengu has been called the "Yatsushiro Shrine" since the Meiji era. It's known lovingly as "Myoken-san" by the locals.
Myokengu
Those who were of the Myoken faith, which viewed the Big Dipper and the North Star as gods, are said to have ridden a Kida in the 9th year of Hakuho(680) and crossed the ocean. This was the beginning and now there are three shrines, the Jogu, Chugu and Gegu.
