    Yatsushiro Municipal Museum

Opened in October 1991, this museum brings the history and the culture of Yatsushiro. It presents both the new and the past of the Yatsushiro region along with its extensive collection of art items belonging to the former Yatsushiro-ruling Matsui clan.

please use the street between the police station.
(the street between the court is closed from the north side).
Access ■ Nearest public transportation
JR train Kagoshima Main Line/Hisatsu Orange Railway - about 3 km to the Museum.
JR Kyushu Shinkansen Shin-Yatsushiro Station - about 7 km.
About 1,440 yen (about 15 min.) by taxi from JR Kyushu Shinkanse Shin-Yatsushiro Station.

■ By bus
"Kensatsu-cho/Homu-kyoku/Shin-hakubutsukan-mae" stops (in front of the Museum).
"Kitakojincho Fukushi Center-mae" (2 minute-walk)
"Yatsushiro Shiyakusho-mae" (5 minute-walk)
Please get off the bus at one of the bus stops above.

■ By car
Turn right at the Kyushu Expressway Yatsushiro IC exit. Go about 6 km toward the Yatsushiro port to Tanakanishimachi intersection. Turn left (to Route 42) south bound. Turn rigth at the three-way junction. Turn left onto the street between the museum and the police station to get to the parking.
